"Universal Love" Thought For Building A Socialist Harmonious Society Of Modern Revelation

Mozi’s "universal love" was the only thought to advocate the equal love in pre-Qin period. The "universal love and handing over benefits" advocates to balance the relationship without discrimination by the equal love, the relationship between king and minister, father and son, the States, in order to create a harmony society with love. He expressed the most original conception of equality and sustainable development. Our country is at a crucial stage of reform and development. It is helpful for us to resolve various problems. For examples:the relationship between human beings and society, the relationship between man and nature. It can help us to build a better harmony society. Mozi’s "universal love" as the essence of traditional culture, it can give us revelation to build a harmonious society.This paper is divided into four parts, as follows:The first part focuses on the background of Mozi’s love research, the meaning of the research, the difficulties and innovations in this research.The second part focuses on the political, economic and cultural background of Mozi’s "universal love" thought. The content of Mozi’s "universal love" includes the indiscriminate love, loving each other and win-win, being good for everyone.The third part analyses the background and the meaning of harmonious society, the modern dimensions of harmonious society and how to use the "universal love" to construct the harmonious society. The dimension of modernity is primarily about in the process of building a harmonious society, how to achieve the goal of sustainable development by getting rid of the self-centered subjectivism and how to make good use of value rationality to make the power of culture stronger and how to make good use of instrumental rationality to achieve the goal of ecological civilization.The fourth part explores the modern revelation of Mozi’s "universal love". It includes two aspects. The negative implications are that Mozi’s "universal love" is short of mass foundation, spiritual support, failing to keep pace with the times. We need to overcome these problems in the process of building a harmonious society.
