The eighteenth congress of the communist party of China pointed out thatthe innovation of social management, must focus on maintaining thefundamental interests of most people, maximize factors conducive to harmonyand enhance the vitality of social development, improve the level of socialgovernance, safeguarding national security, to ensure that the people tolive and work in peace and contentment, social stability and orderly. Forhandling public crisis is an important scale reflects the level of socialgovernance.In recent years,the mass media has played a more and moreimportant role,imergent public crisis,in the face of diversified channelsof information dissemination,bear the brunt of the mass media’s missionis to timely and targeted release right information provided by thegovernment,that the truth,firmly grasp the spread of crisis theintiative,to safeguard social stability and building a harmonious societyof stability and the role of“safety valve”and “stabilizer”.At the sametime,the discussion of news value and ethics has never stopped bring manythink indrstry and academia.Based on the mass media as the researchobject,this paper on the analysis of the history and present situation ofpublic crisis communication,on the basis of in-depth analysis to explorethe role of mass media public crisis reporting characterstics and the roleand the role of mass media in public crisis plays the cause of thedislocation,what factors influence the media reports of publiccrisis,public crisis and puts forward the corntermeasures of mass mediain the role properly play,hope this research can provide some public crisis of news reports in the future,thus reducing unnecessary costs and loss ofpublic management resist rumor,form a social force,make public the nationalspirit,carry forward scientific attitude,so as to promote social harmony.
