| With the rapid development of society, the science and technology also changes quickly and the level of people’s living standards are greatly enriched. Because of the Scientific and technological development, the people’ labour are replaced by the machines’ partly, and the hands of human get free. To a large extent, that makes people have more spared time. Then, as the development of the society, the pace of human life become quick, the load of brain is more and more heavy, relaxing becomes the necessity of the human life. The leisure sports activities that aim at strengthening the body and pleasing the mental are gradually be loved and pursued by people. Engaging in leisure sports activities positively has become the fashion and sign of modern civilization life.This paper investigates2000residents of Changsha city, uses the methods of documentation, mathematical statistics, Comparison and questionnaire to research the situation of the male and female residents’ participation in leisure sports activities in Changsha urban and looks into that in-depth. By comparing that, this paper finds the gender difference, analyse the reason of the difference deeply, puts forward the feasibility suggestions for the development of leisure sports in Changsha city, then provides with theoretical guidance and decision bases for the development of Changsha city and other cities in east and middle China.First, by analysing the survey data, it can concluded as follows:1. The time which the residents of Changsha city use in the leisure sports activities everyday is different, the common situation is that female’s is less than male’s.2. The frequency that the residents of Changsha city engage in the leisure sports activities is different, the female’s is low than male’s.3. The project that the residents of Changsha city choose in the leisure sports activities is different, female trend to choose the gentle, quite and less confrontational ones, while male trend to choose the confrontational and extra strong ones. 4. The playground where the residents of Changsha city engage in the leisure sports activities is different. Female trend to choose inside while male outside.5. The organizational forms and partner that the residents of Changsha city engage in the leisure sports activities is different. Compared with male, female are more willing to join with family members.6. The motivation that the residents of Changsha city engage in the leisure sports activities is also different. Both the male and female’s first motivation is building their bodies, however, the male’s other motivation contains upgrading themselves, making friends, increasing their self-confidence, challenging themselves and improving their competition consciousness.7. On the whole, the difference that residents from60to70years old engage in the leisure sports activities is small, though still exists.8. As the male and female’s hobby degree of leisure sports activities is not the same and the knowledge of sports fitness, the physiological conditions, the gender division of labour are different lead to the own time of the male and female is different; the traditional thought that "man outside and woman inside"; the double pressure of family and career makes female tired; consumption idea and so on are the reasons that the residents of Changsha city engage in the leisure sports activities is different. The main reason of the difference that residents from60to70years old engage in the leisure sports activities is small is that after retirement, men are more willing to return home, female’s fitness awareness increases so they are more willing to spend time in leisure sport activities.Second, suggestion:1. In order to reduce even eliminate the difference that the male and female participate in the leisure sports activities, the policy guidance of government is key.2. Encourage the female participating in more leisure sports activities through propaganda education and increasing social support.3. Strengthen the education of gender knowledge, change persons’ stereotypes of gender, and encourage more women going out of the family to participate in social sports activities.4. Build the specialized playground of the leisure sports activities for women.5. Change the female’s opinion, at the same time, pay attention to the increasing of their own quality. |
