Cultural Ecological System Construction And Protection In Manchu Traditional Sports

Man, an ethnic group in China, enjoys its own long history and splendid civilization inthe development of great China. Manchu boasted not only its own unique culture, languageand dressing style, but also so many different sports that are easy to do and applicable to bothmen and women of all age groups, such as Yangge, hide and seek, wrestling, skating car,playing ice Ga, ice Cuju, etc. All the ethnic groups’ sports have to go through all the ups anddowns in its developing process, which holds true for the Manchu sports. Manchu sports andculture is an indispensable part of the great Chinese culture. Protecting and passing downManchu sports culture is a must to further the national cultural development. Hundreds ofyears has witnessed the development and prosperity of traditional Manchu sports culture, andwe should try all our best to make it live long and prosper.Many research methods have been taken in this thesis, such as literature, interviews,questionnaires, data statistics, logical analysis, to study the history and the status quo oftraditional sports of the Manchu and its cultural ecology. Moreover, this research is to find outthe solutions to the problems in the Manchu traditional sports development and to further tapthe characteristics and value of the existence of the traditional Manchu sports.Conclusion: The research on traditional Manchu sports is far from being enough. Most of theefforts so far have been made only to find out what the traditional Manchu sports is, ratherthan to further develop it according to its unique characteristics. Manchu sports takes littleshare of the national sports, and most students in school know nothing about Manchu sports.Therefore, the Manchu sports should be developed in a scientific way. Sustainabledevelopment of traditional Manchu sports can be achieved with the combination of Manchusports and the national body-building plan, school education and tourism development. Wewill have a better understanding of traditional Manchu sports and a further development of itby way of building a Manchu sports cultural ecology. How to protect and pass down Manchusports in the21st and how to preserve the origin of it while taking in new blood from othersports culture is question to be answered before we can witness the sound development oftraditional Manchu sports culture.
