The Chinese Teaching Material Design And Teaching Strategies To Thai High School Students

When teaching foreign students Chinese, we should provide them with particular Chinesetextbook according to the different purposes and the different countries of the learners. Lackingin Chinese textbooks and the inapplicability about these textbooks in some Thai high schoolsbecome the obstacles in teaching. Therefore, it demands Chinese teachers to do some analysisto solve those problems in specific teaching process. By assimilating the principles ofcompiling teaching materials, the paper starts from analyzing the present situation of Chineseteaching in Thai, and then to put particular emphasis on the teaching practice of Chinesevolunteer teachers, and last to follow the compiling procedure to design the Chinese teachingmaterial. In order to dissertate the necessity of this paper, the author first analyzes the problemsand the situation in Chinese teaching. Based on the course offering in author’s school and thefeatures of Thai high school students, the author chooses representative Chinese textbookswhich aimed at Thai students for reference, then design the teaching material from vocabularies,topics, grammars, exercises and structures. At the end of this article, the author points out thestudents’ learning difficulties and puts forward the strategies combined with the teachingcontent from the point of view about the Chinese language and Thai language comparison.The article is a try of designing teaching material on the basis of the compiling principles;it is also a summary of teaching practicing and experiences. It has some reference value forChinese volunteer teachers’ teaching in Thai.
