The Status Of Elementary School’s Chinese Teaching Materials In Muan County,South Korea

As Chinese teaching material is significant for teachers to teach Chinese and learners to acquire Chinese,it plays an important role in Chinese language teaching.However,the current situation of elementary school’s Chinese teaching materials in Muan county,Jeollanam-do,South Korea is not optimistic.The disadvantages of elementary school’s Chinese teaching materials have impeded the development of Chinese language education of Muan county.This paper can be divided into four chapters:Chapter one generalizes the previous studies in the field of Korean Children’s Chinese language teaching material both at China and Korea,and tries to find the own study perspective and value.Then it introduces the research methods of this paper.According to local Chinese teacher’s questionnaire survey,Chapter two finds Muan elementary schools’ problems in the use of Chinese teaching materials,and then tries to figure out the essential reasons of these problems.Chapter three,from external forms and internal structure,compares and analyzes two typical elementary school’s Chinese textbooks—‘ Great Chinese’ and ‘Unnam elementary school self-compiled Chinese textbook’.This chapter contains comparison of seven aspects—overall design,single class links,texts,vocabulary,grammar,Chinese culture and practice.According to the above summary of Muan elementary schools’ problems on using and compiling Chinese teaching materials,Chapter four puts forward pertinent measures and suggestions to improve the status of elementary school’s Chinese teaching materials in Muan county.This paper deems that the Muan education department,each elementary school and each Chinese teacher must pay more attention to the disadvantages of elementary school’s Chinese teaching materials,and give effective improvements together to accelerate the development of Muan county’s Chinese education.
