On The Establishment Of The Security System For Basic-Level Adolescent Optimist Sailing Boat Racing In Qingdao

The Aim and Significance of this Study:The studies concerning the Qingdao juvenile’s sailing races at the grass-roots level have made it clear that there exist many unsafe factors and security breaches. As more and more juvenile athletes, lacking of basic skills and experience of handling emergency, have been participating in the training of this game, the probability of danger and injury is much higher than that of professional athletes who have far better physical strength and skills.Essays on the safety control of juvenile athletes at the grass-roots level are hardly found in the library and major databases, such as CNKI and CQVIP. Specialized and operatable guiding principles cannot be easily found when sports events are organized. If there were a relatively complete system of safety control, the juvenile beginner athletes would acquire a sense of safety, which can help them eliminate fear and get more involved in trainings and competitions, so as to improve their sports performance and exercise their sense of independence and balance. When confronted with the sea which may change within a short time, athletes must make their own judgments and take actions quickly. Only when people pay enough attention to carry out safety control system, and rescue team grasp the skills of handling emergency through learning and training, can the juvenile OP sailing race at the grass-roots level be held successfully.Ways of investigation:the subject of this study is the enforcement of safety control strategies of Qingdao juvenile sailing race and training. The preparation work done by medical team at sea and on land is studied on the basis of observation and expert interviews; the preparation of all the equipment needed and the self-saving skills are studied through interviews with coaches; the appropriate sailing boats and equipment are chosen on an experimental basis; the skills and the use of equipment that lifeguards need to acquire in case of emergency at sea are summarized through interview with experienced lifeguards, questions like when and where the athletes are prone to problems, and the influence of weather and tide and judges’arrangements of the competition range are discussed; a complete construction concerning the establishment of a reasonable safety control system is proposed.Results of study:this study urges the organizers and managers of grass-roots level sailing races to establish a safety control system; the odds of injury is reduced, the athletes can deal with emergency more swiftly later on. Complete safety control strategies as well as necessary self-saving skills are proposed for the grass-roots juvenile athletes and lifeguards in OP sailing races. A detailed program outline is proposed to ensure the carrying-out of the safety control strategies. The sports performance and the interest of sailing are increased on the safe basis.
