| As a kind of enlightenment education, English teaching for lower grade students has attracted much more attention of teachers and parents. Homework is not only an important part in the process of teaching but also an important part of learning. The psychological and physiological characteristics of lower grade primary school students are different from those of students of other ages. Traditional low grade primary school English homework is boring and far away from the actual life, which lead to the students’ passive learning. Therefore, high quality homework plays an important role in making students reinforce the content of the course and thus improving their effect of learning English.According to the theory of multiple intelligences, human has at least eight intelligences. Each student has his own intelligence or intelligent combination advantage. The content of this paper is mainly about how to make full use of the theory of multiple intelligences in designing the lower grades of primary school English homework to achieve better teaching effect, cultivate students’interest in study and form good learning habits.This paper, on the basis of introducing the theoretical framework of MI, focuses on how to design the English homework for lower grade primary school students. The contents include Optimize homework design according to the theory of MI and Strategies of homework design. The study offers some useful homework designs cases based on the theory of multiple intelligences. These homework designs mentioned in the cases are used in teaching practice and have been effective.Through the theoretical and empirical study of the English homework design for lower grade primary school students on the basis of MI, we conclude that English homework design based on MI is beneficial to develop various of intelligences of the students, and it is helpful to inspire the students’ interest in English study and help them to grasp the knowledge they have studied in class better. |
