This thesis takes the author’s attendance in social practice inHohhot Special Education School as the main line. It introduces theprocedure and effect of the model of Play Therapy launched in the groupwork with disabled teenagers.The educational level of disabled teenagers determines theircomprehensive quality and social adaption, which not only directly,but also has a bearing on disabled teenagers’ survival and theirparticipation level in social life. The author has carried out social workfurther with disabled teenagers in Special Education School by applyingthe model of Play Therapy. The model of Play Therapy is quite helpfulfor director to adjust their body and mind in a carefree atmosphere, soas to achieve the goals and effect which social workers set to the director.The author expects through practice and research, we can sum up theexperience and methods of the model of Play Therapy in social practice,enrich theories and practices of social work for the disabled home,attract more attention to the disabled, help the disabled teenagers toreceive better education and social rehabilitation service。The article adopts the method of Qulitative Research on social work attendance and research. In terms of concept, Qualitative Researchparadigm tends to center on internal logic of social work, while it ismore close to the real environment of social practice in terms ofapplicability. Based on introduction of relevant person in charge of theHohhot Special Education School and the author’s self survey there, theauthor has selected two classes, the junior blind class and the se niordeaf class to carry out social work in the mode of Play Therapy. Thereexists the phenomenon of self-abasement in the process ofcommunication with others in the junior blind class,so the author has setsome games to strengthen confidence for junior blind students, andexpect the students of blind class through the course of the game; Thedeaf class are lack of unity in the inner interaction, so the author has setthe team game for deaf class senior students to expect them to becomesolid and united through the games. Through the application of the modeof Play Therapy in social work, students in junior blind class haveexperienced the importance of self-confidence, discovered their ownpotential. The mode of Play Therapy has finally helped students in juniorblind class to explore their potential and enhance their self-affiemation;Deaf students has discovered the power of the collectivity. Through the“team work”, students have achieved the growth of character andimprovement of personality, which has effectively strengthened thecohesiveness of the team and helps students in senior deaf class to acquire mutual cooperation and division.The mode of Play Therapy applied in the experimental research ofsocial work in Special Education School has achieved the expectedeffect, through which we can discover the merits of the mode of PlayTherapy include ability to make flexible arrangement according todirectors’ practical problems, pertinence to meet directors’ demands,possibility to carry out social work to achieve effects in a carefreeenvironment.In short, the application of the mode of Play Therapy insocial work in special education school is a successful experience for thesocial work practice, a positive exploration for the localization ofChina’s social work and a new attempt for the China’s special educationcareer.
