Teacher-student interaction refers to all kinds of interaction andinteractive influence between teachers and students, but the classroomteacher-student interaction, specifically refers to the communicationbetween teachers and students in the classroom teaching situations,dialogue and mutual influence and interaction of the dynamic process.Effective teacher-student interaction in English class not only helpsteachers to conduct teaching efficiently, increase the appeal of Englishteaching and helps to develop teachers’ good character and theirprofessional growth, but also helps students to absorb the knowledge ofEnglish and develops the actual ability to use English, helps students todevelop physically and mentally. As an English teacher in senior highschool, the author believes it is necessary to observe and analyze thecurrent situation of teacher-student interaction in English class todiscover the existing problems and explore the ways to solve them. Theauthor of the thesis made an observation in Hailer No.2high school fortwo months and interviewed some teachers and students, and describedand analyzed the status of teacher-student interaction in class andexplored some interactive strategies which may promote teacher-studentinteraction in the future English classroom.The paper is divided into five parts: the first part explains the reasons and purposes to choose the topic and the significance of the thesis.The second part presents the literature review, which defines interactionand teacher-student interaction’s concepts, and classifies teacher-studentinteraction,sums up to foreign and Chinese research on teacher-studentinteraction of the relevant research at home and abroad. The third partintroduces research methodology. The fourth part analyzes the existingproblems in teacher-student interaction in the current class. The last partdraws out the strategies to promote classroom teacher-student effectiveinteraction in the high school English classroom.
