Research On Development Characters Of China Lifesaving Event

Lifesaving events, as an important constituent of our country’s lifesaving enterprise, have irreplaceable function of demonstration and guidance. China lifesaving event is held for the first time in1999, the sports involved were the commonly used skills of swimming lifeguard and in the way of competition. These events provide opportunities for the participants to mutually learn and exchange life-saving skills. After years of development, the events has become regularly annual events national wide.This paper gives a comprehensive research towards the development feature and characteristics of the country’s lifesaving events, utilizes the research methods of literature review, expert interview, questionnaire investigation, mathematical statistics and other logic methods. In this paper the development of lifesaving events are divided into different stages, and the characteristics of each stage are expound one by one. The hope through this research to our country lifesaving events is to make the population aware of it as an influencing factor and a play important role of our country lifesaving career development, and to provide important importation of lifesaving events. The following conclusion is driven from this investigation:The development of China lifesaving events appeared different stages and mainly divided into two stages, the initial stage (1999-2004years) and the progressive stage of development (since2005).The initial stage showed the following characteristics:The number of participate was stable. The competitions of swimming pool lifesaving were groping forward. The surf lifesaving competitions were at its first attempt. And the referee team was gradually established. The progressive stages of development showed the following characteristics:The number of participants increased substantially. The registration requirements are becoming relaxed gradually. The competitions of swimming pool lifesaving are perfecting with each day development and the surf lifesaving competitions are limited to a slow development. Simulated Emergency Response Competition is developing towards international standards. The athletics skill level increases year by year and the form of events is varied. However the development of referee team is slow.The lifesaving’events of the country are expected to develop into a mature phase after the progressive stages, in which the development will appear the following characteristics:The restrictions apply to the selection of participates. The various sports type of competitions will be in full swing towards the international standards. The referee team will be maturely developed and enlarged. The form of events will vary.
