Social Support And Rural "Empty Nesters" Spiritual Support For The Elderly

In recent years,along with a large number of young rural labormigration between cities and countryside and the popularity of familyplanning policy in the rural areas,rural empty nest is changed in the form ofmore and more serious in our country,the pension problem of rural emptynester has heated up fastly,becoming one of the hot spot of today’ssociety.This paper focuses on the rural empty nest family the elderlyspiritual support problems.This is because:first,the empty nester in rural isvulnerable groups of vulnerable groups.Compared to the empty nester incity,they can enjoy fewer resources and more less attention on the questionof their spiritual support:Compared to the rural elderly people whosechildren around them.They are more lonely.Second,pension includes threeaspects:economic support,life care and spiritual support,and in numerous onpension problems research,old-age financial support is often moreattention,and spiritual support because it is not easy to quantify and beneglected.This paper is mainly from the perspective of social support theory insocial work,using the method of filed interviews of eight empty nesters fromthree typical village in Tuchengzi town of Chifeng city,listen to theirvoice,from the point of view of the old people’s own interpretation andanalysis of the problems of the spiritual support.Through the empty nesterthe problems of the spiritual support,discovered that there are manyproblems in our country rural empty nester about spiritualsupport.Include:dignity in term of spiritual support is difficult to getrespect,solitary elderly remarried is difficult,spiritual and cultural lift ismonotonous in community,their spiritual support rights are without legalsystem guarantee,and so on.Behind these problems its corresponding reason.Such as:the rural family gradually small,home “light weight smallold” phenomenon serious,children often only pay attention to materialsupport,ignored the old man’s spiritual needs,community infrastructurebackwardness and so on.These are caused by the reasons of the current ruralempty nester spiritual support situation.In the last part of this paper,in viewof the problems the empty nester spiritual support,and puts forward somesuggestions.For example,empty nester should learn to comfortthemselves,children should put spiritual support and material support areequally important position,give full play to the role of familycomfort,strengthen the community construction, improve the supporting roleof the community and perfecting the laws and regulations of the spiritualsupport. It can be summed up in constructing a including the empty nesterthemselves, family, community, country and so the main, social supportnetworks, carry out their duties, do their duty, to improve the elderlyspiritual support status are implemented, so as to give rural empty nester ahappy and stable life. I hope to some thinking through this research, andcause further attention to the rural “empty nest family support of old spirit”.
