The Research On Satisfaction Of Spiritual Support Of Rural Empty-nest Aged People

With the China’s social and economic development, the deepening of aging population degree and the acceleration of urbanization rate makes the number of rural empty-nest family rise year by year. Then the problem of empty-nest families appears and the matter of supporting old people is still the focus issue of society. In recent years, scholars still focus on material support in the research of old-age problem and the studies on spiritual support are insufficient; compared with empty-nest aged people in city, the researches on spiritual support to rural empty-nest aged people are even less.In this research, using the quantitative research methods and based on results of questionnaires, the author starts from old people’s own feelings and then makes a summing up of the current situation of rural empty-nest aged people’s self-assessment satisfaction about spiritual support which includes four categories: respect for personality, achievement and peace and emotional comfort. The research discovers that rural empty-nest aged people generally feel peaceful at achievements of their children, but they also have some problems, such as lack of high-level respect for personality, emotional needs cannot be fulfilled, monotonous spare-time life and the desire to self-actualization. This article analyzes the factors that influence the satisfaction of spiritual support by logistic regression,and realizes that sex,age,marriage situation and educational level have effects on aging people’s satisfaction of spiritual support.For the factors that influence rural empty-nest aged people’ spiritual support, the author discusses the solutions from aged people themselves, families, rural communities, moral and legal aspects: Aged people should have a sense of self-support, maintain a healthy state of mind, develop hobbies, and enrich their own lives. Children should respect, care, understand aged parents and do not be stingy with care, patience and love. Aged couples should support each other. The rural community is the most important activity places except homes, so the community should establish and perfect rural community organizations, rich elderly amateur life and hardware facilities also should be keep up. Law and morality has been playing a very important role in the elderly support aspect, therefor they must complement each other and compensate for each other in order to promote spirit support together.
