The National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) plays an important role in talent selection and the examination questions pay attention to students’ability to solve practical issues. To improve their ability to solve problems in physics, which is to be evaluated and distinguished by NCEE, is the sole target of physics teaching.Based on the researches on the physics ability that is needed in NCEE both at home and abroad, taking pedagogy and psychology as the theoretical background, the paper gives a preliminary analysis of the statements that are related with the physics ability given in NCEE Physics Test Explanation. The finding is that the Explanation does not have deep theoretical basis and it is necessary to introduce professor Xing hong jun’s interpretation of physics ability, which combines "intelligence","skill" and "cognitive structure" with the characteristics of physics. Professor Xing’s theory of the physics ability can be divided in five parts. First, the ability to observe and do experiments. Second, the ability of physical imagination. Third, the ability of physical thinking. Fourth, the ability of physical operation. Fifth, the ability to use physical knowledge and scientific methods. This paper analyzes and evaluates the physics questions on the science integrated test paper (physics), Beijing,2012by applying and narrowing down professor Xing’s theory.The researching process:first, to demonstrate the necessity of reclosing the theory of physics ability by analyzing and evaluating the test paper structure of the science integrated test paper (physics), Beijing,2012according to the common appraisal work. Next, get to know the current situation and characteristics of the test paper such as its emphasis and distribution by analyzing them in two dimensions:test of physics knowledge and test of physics ability based on the theory and the further study of physics ability. Finally, the paper will summarize the characteristics of the science integrated test paper (physics), Beijing,2012through analyzing the three parts of the paper, that is, multiple-choice, experimental and essay questions, in which the investigation of physics knowledge and physics ability is individually analyzed. With the analysis above the paper will end by giving advice about the design of physics questions in NCEE and future classroom teaching.
