With the development of knowledge economy many countries reformed on thecurriculum of basic education and adjusted the aim and model of cultivating talents inaccordance to the more fierce competition in social development. China has started anotherreform on the curriculum since 1999, and the reform will surely give rise to the reform on thematriculation test. It is necessary to discuss the problems objectively such as whether thematriculation test questions guided by the new curriculum can reflect the concept of the newcurriculum, whether it functions well in selecting students and whether it can produce thedesirable backwash on the teaching in middle schools, but there are very few researches doneon this at present. Author tried to analyze and research on the realization of the goal of thereform on the matriculation test taking science integrated test -biology part as an example. Analyzing and researching on the national matriculation test helps to select talents ofhigh quality; and it helps produce desirable backwash on the teaching in middle schools so asto make schools lay more emphasis on cultivating the students' abilities; it also helpseducational evaluation so as to get every student fully developed. The research method of this thesis is mainly comparison and investigation methods onthe basis of multi-intelligence theory, educational measurement theory and classificationtheory of educational goals. Comparison method is adopted to analyze and research on therelationship between the goals of science integrated test and the teaching goals, on thedifferences between foreign and Chinese goals of science test, on the changes of the testinggoals before and after the reform of the curriculum. Investigation is conducted with 50teachers from 5 senior middle schools in Mudanjiang City and 100 students admitted in theyear 2003 from the Biology Department of Mudanjiang Teacher's College. And then have aquantitative and qualitative analysis on the statistic results to analyze and research on therelationship between the content of the test and that of the teaching, on the relationshipbetween talents and quality, on the validity of the contents as well as to analyze and researchon whether the power of the test accords with the distribution of power set by the Instructionof the Matriculation Test. Conclusions of the research are as follows: The testing goals of the nationalmatriculation science integrated test guided by the new curriculum basically reflect theconcept of aiming at competence cultivation, and accord with the requirements of the qualityof talents and the goals of cultivating talents in the new century. The testing contents and theteaching contents are completely identical with a high validity reflecting the concept of thenew curriculum and it has a good backwash on the teaching in middle schools. 20% of theteachers hold that the test has excellent backwash on teaching and 72% hold that it has goodbackwash on teaching. The power of the test is a bit beyond the distribution of power in theInstruction of the Matriculation Test. 12% of the teachers hold that it is too hard. 68% of theteachers hold that it is quite hard. 36% of students hold that it is too hard and 14% of studentshold that it is quite hard. On the whole 76% of teachers hold that the test paper is excellentand 4% hold that it is good. 24% of students hold that it is fairly good and 24% of studentshold that it is very good. Suggestions are made on how to choose the experiment test based on the analysis andresearch done on the biology questions in the matriculation test, such as when choosingexperiment test to evaluate the students' competence of designing and fulfilling theexperiment, we should not only ask the students to write down the procedures of theexperiment, we should also make the questions more concrete, more adjustable, morescientific and cover more areas.
