Research of cross-cultural adaptation is not only an important part of the study of teaching Chinese as foreign language, but also an unavoidable difficulty in study of foreign students. This study is focus on the Thailand students in Chongqing, The purpose of this study is to find out the status of cross-cultural adaptation in Chongqing and the problems still existed, and put forward feasible suggestions. It is to help students to improve the cross-cultural adaptation for a better life and learning in Chongqing.This paper is based on the cross-cultural adaptation. It is studied in the questionnaire survey and case interview. The four aspects of the study are the social adaptation, the psychological adaptation, the cross-cultural adaptation and learning adaptation. This paper will find out the problems of cross-cultural adaptation of Thailand students in Chongqing in this four aspects. The problems of social adaptation mainly display in living environment, interpersonal communication, service mode, social morality and social support. The problems of psychological adaptation include the time stay in Chongqing and psychology, age and psychology, gender difference and psychology. Cross-cultural communication include understanding the country of destination, the willingness to communicate, cross cultural attitudes and objective evaluation of the country of destination. Learning adaptation includes learning acquisition and adaptation of learning contact. Combined with the interview results of Thailand students, this paper will sums up corresponding countermeasures in all this four aspects to improve the Thailand students’ ability to adapt in Chongqing and make a suggestion in the teaching and the management of Thailand students in Chongqing.
