A large number of theory and practice showed that teaching in multimedia method in universities can enhance the students’interest in learning and improve teaching efficiency, which can provide more space and imagination in classroom teaching. However, it was found that some problems still existed in multimedia teaching practice for many years. Taking Chongqing Jiaotong university as a case, the current situation and problems of multimedia teaching at colleges are investigated. The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part contained the research goal, the research content and research methods of this study. Under the background of widely utilizing multimedia teaching in education information process, the current situation and problems of multimedia teaching at universities are investigated using the methods of questionnaire, interview and observation.The second part is the theoretical basis of multimedia teaching. Through summing up the existing basic theory of constructivism, system theory, such as multimedia teaching, for later in the questionnaire, interview, root cause analysis and improvement measures to provide a theoretical basis. These theories support that multimedia is merely a teaching tool, which needs organic combination of the teaching elements, or create teaching situation, to achieve the purpose of improving teaching effect in classroom.The third part is the result of the questionnaire and the interview analysis, through comparative analysis, it is pointed out that the existing local university teachers and students understanding of the necessity of the multimedia teaching, the existing multimedia teaching effect, interactive and multimedia courseware of multimedia classroom, infrastructure and other problems.These problems are analyzed through two angel of external cause and internal cause.The fourth part is the summarize of the thesis, which pointed out that by improving teacher training, multimedia teaching ability, classroom teaching interaction and increasing investment can improve the effect of local multimedia teaching.
