On Inter-Ethnic Marriage Among The Ewenki

This thesis, mainly based on data from Alguya Ewenki Township of Genhe City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, explains reasons, influences of inter-ethnic marriage in Ewenki community.The expansion of the scope of ethnic intermarriage has been related to relevant state policy in national minorities. Along with growing immigrant population in the local community, the Ewenki have experienced tremendous transformation in marrital forms, spouse choosing and standard of spouse selection, and the proportion of interethnic marriage has increased year by year, interethnic marriage has been the result of the interactios of various factors including immigration of Han Chinese from other parts of China.This paper consists of three parts. The first part introduces relvant researchs at home and abroad, and this thesis’ purpose, significance and research methods. The second part is the main content of the paper. The first chapter in it outlines historical changes in inter-ethnic marriage among Olguya Ewenki. The second chapter analyzes the social causes and impact of inter-ethnic marriage in the local community. The third chapter talks on cultural changes caused by inter-ethnic marriage, that is the dual dilemma, among the local Ewenki.The third part is the concluding part in which the author summarizes some key points from the thesis content.
