This thesis takes the event of back-home marriage of female migrant workers born in a Miao village as the object to explore the motivation of their going out and back-home marriage, and explain the phenomenon that many unmarried women choosing back home in the intensify trend of population flowing from urban to the rural. The author has carried out three-month fieldwork in Gezu autonomous county of Longlin. During this period, a total of87villagers were interviewed,11of which were undergoing the in-depth interview. Therefore, the author has collected enough detailed field data.In order to explain "back-home marriage" phenomenon, this article has traced the process of "deciding to go out-working-back-home marriage" of11female from the life course perspective. The author found that these women have a clear working target before they going out, and they were eager to meet the material and cultural needs of their own through city life and work experience. These goals were connected to themselves and their families, and closely related to the consideration of their own development. Most of them knew less about city life, and they just used some fragments impression to piece together a romantic "city dream". With, these young women just left home proudly with these needs and dreams. After entering the city, they not only felt the fun of urban culture, but also experienced the hardships of working life. Working in the city as an important event in their life course has changed their concept and behavior, and also encouraged them to make the decision of back-home marriage. On the one hand, they took advantages of the new industrial structure by their hard work, and obtained the same or even more benefits compare to the male. They wanted to change traditional gender relations in the outflow through the growing economic position. On the other hand, the tense production of workshop and less protection of human were gradually costing their youth and health. The stranger’s identity let them misfits to the city.If migrant behavior is along with the construction and development of individual subjectivity, then back-home marriage means those women’s return to the patriarchal society in the form. However it does not means the final victory of patriarchy, but the important process of individual "integration". All sorts of success and ruin of the before expectations make these women to rethink their working life, and then have a new understanding of "differences between urban and rural areas". On this basis, they expect more recognition and respect, and eager for more freedom and homogenize living environment. They gradually realize the positive meaning of back-home marriage for their personal happiness back to marry has to realize. In the decision of marriage, they begin to notice the importance of the same cultural background for the harmonious relationship between husband and wife. Back-home marriage is not a necessity to the urban-rural dual system but the result of their experience and reflection in the city. In the face of migration and marriage, these women can make rational decisions.
