In2003, with the high school New Chinese Curriculum Standard (NCCS) formally issued, aesthetic education has drawn people’s attention and been a great concern to many educators. A distinct characteristic of NCCS is that there is a clear requirement of aesthetic education. But the result of Chinese aesthetic education implementation is not obvious. There are a lot of problems in aesthetic education. Under this premise, I began writing this paper. After finishing the previous studies,firstly my thesis discusses the basic problems of Chinese aesthetic education, including character, the Chinese aesthetic education of the task and so on. This paper also illustrates what the Chinese aesthetic education should be. Secondly, I conducted an investigation of the present Chinese aesthetic education in High school, summarize some problems existing in aesthetic education and point out what Chinese aesthetic education is. Then this paper explores basic strategies from a macro-and micro-to implement Chinese aesthetic education, including the understanding and the philosophy of Chinese aesthetic education, the aims and content, the principle of implementation, the evaluation system, the training of teacher’s aesthetic understanding. Finally, we can arrive at conclusion that beauty is the core meaning of Chinese education. Besides, there are some discussions in ugliness education and its positive influence for aesthetic education. I hope this thesis can provide some new ideas to promote the implementation of the Chinese aesthetic education.
