With the deepening understanding of the value of mathematics, without exception, mathematicsapplication consciousness of students in math curriculum standards of each country has been strengthensince the21st century. The mathematics curriculum philosophy of our country reflects the common trendand advanced experience of mathematics curriculum reform around the world. With the implementation ofthe new curriculum, the relation of mathematic applications and practical aspects has be enhanced greatlyin high school. Under the guidance of the new curriculum standard, great changes have taken place in highschool mathematics teaching. The emphasis on the teaching is shifting form basic knowledge to capacityand application consciousness.The optimal value problem in the practical application is a class of topics close to the actual novelkinds of questions, and has complex background.To solve such problem, the essence is that apply ourmathematical knowledge to abstract the actual problem into a mathematical problem. By solving themathematical model to obtain the solution of practical problems. By studing how to solve and teach theoptimal value problem in the practical application, the student’s ability to solve practical problems will beimproved, and also the student’s application consciousness will be developed, so the content of this paperhas important research value and practical significance.Through combing the mathematics teaching situation of high school, the basic concept of the newcurriculum standards and the requirement put forward by the new curriculum standard for cultivatingstudents’ mathematics application consciousness, this paper will study the optimal value problem ofapplication problems based on Piaget’s constructivism, Ausubel’s meaningful learning, Freudenthal’s "therealistic mathematical" theory and Dewey’s educational such as life education, psychology theory. By thedistribution of the optimal value problem in each chapter of the textbook and the part of the collegeentrance examination nearly five-year, this paper study the optimal value problem from the perspective ofproblem-solving research, common types of application problems and problem-solving steps. By analysisof the college entrance examination nearly five-year, statistics and analysis on the part of teachers andstudents’ questionnaire, through combining the teaching status quo of the optimal value in the practical application and my teaching experience, teaching strategies are discussed from the following three aspectsfor improving the ability of students to solve practical problems and their application consciousness. First,change teaching concepts, improve mathematical literacy. Second, fully tap teaching resources, stimulatestudents’ interest in learning. Third, pay more attention to carry out activities in the mathematicalapplication of teaching and learning, train students applications consciousness. In this paper, the teachingtactics are the focus, and will be discussed in detail.
