College tutors are responsible for college students’affairs and play an important role in educating, managing and serving students, designed to improving their comprehensive ability and quality. In other words, the competence of college tutors is directly bound up with the quality of higher education. Also, Psychological Counseling, career development advisory and employability and entrepreneurship advisory are the essential competence for college tutors. However, an increasing number of college tutors are facing with working dilemma, especially on Psychological Counseling, career development advisory and employability and entrepreneurship advisory.Thus, enhancing college tutors’ competence may contribute to help students more professionally and effectively, in order to improve college students’comprehensive ability and quality.This study research on twenty one college tutors of Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology by social work intervention from strength perspective of social work. In-depth interview, observation and action research have been adopted as main research methods to investigate twenty one college tutors’current situation. The result shows that Psychological Counseling, career development advisory and employability and entrepreneurship advisory are the main working dilemma they facing with. During the interview process, twenty one college tutors have reached an consensus that making full use of advantages, social practice, professional guidance and mutual learning.On the basis of prior investigation, three stages and five theme activities have been designed:Part one,’know about advantage’. Re-knowing about individual advantages of twenty one college tutors, and make full use of these advantages into student affairs. Part Two, Secondment, Model Centered Learning and Psychological Counseling and Career Advisory are used to improve learning ability and practice of college tutors. Part Three, Mutual learning, strengthens internal communication and resource share among college tutors. Reliability and validity of this research will be assessed after these theme activities. It is evident from the results that social work intervention has contributed to enhance college tutors’ competence under strengthen perspective. Moreover, social work can not only serve students directly, but also help college tutors improve competence. Finally, suggestions are made based on the empirical research as to enhance college tutors’ competence, which might be a good reference for other colleges.
