Research Integrity Culture

Honesty is the basic code of ethics for people, and it is also the importantfoundation of normal operation of social order. Currently our country is in a criticalperiod of social transformation, facing the wave of economic globalization, culturaldiversification, and constant exchange, collision of ideas at home andabroad.Consequently on college campus, it is not unusual to find academic fraud,cheating on examinations and other dishonest practices. We believe that cultivatingintegrity culture can promote the university teachers and students staff integrityquality and accomplishment, and it will be of practical significance to implement theeighteenth CCPC’s basic requirement of building a integrity society, help school totrain talents with comprehensive abilities, and to promote social harmony andstability.This article includes four parts, the first part is introduction, mainly analyzing theresearch background for university integrity culture construction, research status athome and abroad, the research significance and research ideas and methods.Thesecond part is an overview of the university honesty culture construction, starting withbriefing the connotation, features and functions of integrity, integrity culture anduniversity integrity culture; and then providing its content and significance. The thirdpart mainly explores the current situation of the university honesty cultureconstruction and analyses the cause of the problem. First, a research is madeconcerning the present university credit situation, and the findings are summarized;second, a further analysis is made with regard to the major fruits and the existingproblems as well as its causes. The fourth part put forward four principles for theuniversity credit culture construction: namely, sticking to the principle of subjectivity,the principle of gradation, the principle of practicality and the principle of step by step,Secondly it put forward four countermeasures to fulfill the goal by promotingintegrity concept, building good faith environment, strengthening the education ofhonesty and credibility, the perfection of credit honesty culture system construction. University campus is the forefront of social and cultural development, and it isthe cradle of cultivating high-quality talents with good faith, it is necessary to play itspotential role of educating people. And it will help promote and enrich universitycampus culture and good faith education theory, and eventually to help lay a solidyfoundation for the rise of new climax of socialist culture construction, stimulate thecreativity of the whole nation and improve soft power of the national culture.
