The Research Of Old People’s Community Council In Perspective Of Positive Aging

With Chinese old people’s aggravating, old people’s welfare and rights and interests protectionhave become a topic which is generally concerned in society. Learning from international society’sHands-on experience on responding for crisis on people’s aging, my research introduces the idea ofPositive Aging into old people’s space in Day-to-day activities. Community Council institution is a newtry exploring the road of community residents’ democratic self-government in China, which gives aplatform to community residents Participate in community Affairs. At the present, old people are majorparticipants in established Community Council. They put in their own enthusiasm, experience, wisdom,skills and human resources invested to discuss important issues in the community. Old people can notonly achieve "Retirement" social value, but also improve the cause of community building byParticipating in Community Council.This study selected Changchun City T community for the study area, The main object of study ofthe elderly members of the Community Council, to the community’s neighborhood committee staff andcommunity residents as a secondary object. Select7Community procedure of the elderly members oftwo elderly community residents as well as the community’s neighborhood committee director of focusinterviews.The use of observation, depth interview a comprehensive understanding of the status andcharacteristics of the participation of older persons in the Community Council, and using a combinationof literature research, expand the participation of older persons in the basic situation of the CommunityCouncil, utility, problems, obstacles, measures to improve the analysis and discussion.On the basis of the field investigation in Changchun City T Community and interviews of elderlymembers of the Community Council, aiming for phenomenon of the participation of older persons in theCommunity Council, I conduct multi-angle, full inquiry and explore the participation of older persons inthe motivation, conditions, methods, results, internal and external influencing factors of the CommunityCouncil. I make good use of sociology, management, psychology, and other categories,multidisciplinary theoretical knowledge. Detailed analysis of the effectiveness of the participation ofolder persons in the Community Council presented the level of the individual, community, socialparticipation of older persons in the problems and obstacles in the process of Community Council, theparticipation of older persons in the procedure of the Community system to protect. This studyeventually summarized the participation of older persons in the Community Council for the older agegroups to participate in society, social integration, and promote the building of community development,practice active aging social policy has played an active role, has good prospects for development.Community system of procedure in China is still in its first stage. Academia has not yet formed acomplete understanding of the theory. This study seeks to point to an area, departure from the currentsituation of the participation of older persons in the Community Council, more comprehensive analysisof the current implementation of the system of Community Council, based on the strategy of improvingthe community’s rules of procedure and system theory in sociology. This is the previous lack of researchand innovation of this paper.
