Tao Xing-zhi and Kerschensteiner are both renowned gurus in field ofvocational education, their wealth of vocational education thought still has a strongreference today. Their education perseverance is worthy of our study today in theeducation sector. While living in different countries, but they were living in the latterhalf of the19th century and the first half of the20th century, the understanding ofvocational education had a lot of similarities, however, due to cultural traditions, etc.there are differences in their understanding of vocational education. This paperpresented and compared Tao Xing-zhi and Kerschensteiner, from the vocationaleducation ideological aspects, hoping by introducing and comparing to deepenunderstanding of vocational education thought of the two educators, better use theirtheory to guide us today’s educational development.The paper mainly comparative analysis the vocational education thought ofthese two educators from nine aspects, which includ vocational education thought’spremise, vocational education civilians, combining theory and practice,people-oriented values, standard dual-qualified teachers, by the impact of Deweyphilosophy, the focus of the purpose of vocational education, vocational educationthought contained in the subject areas,vocational education ideological sphere ofinfluence. Then, i analyse the cause of their vocational education thought’differences, in order to deepen the understanding of both vocational educationthought.
