With the progress of the information era, the application of information technology isgradually spreading in the educational field. At present, the integration of informationtechnology and other disciplines has become a popular method in teaching process. One ofthe hottest issues is the integration of information technology and geometry. This paperfocuses on teaching and learning activities which is based on previous studies and surveys,and further studies how the information technology and junior high school geometrycombined.Combining IT and junior high school geometry organically and applying inquiry-basedteaching methods during the classes can provide students with more opportunities toexperience in person and experience the real process of science practice research. It is notonly conducive to cultivate students’ the hands-on and practical ability, but also promotelearner’s divergent thinking in mathematics. At the same time, it teaches learners how to learnfrom life and apply the knowledge to life.According to teaching philosophy and teaching goals of New Curriculum Standard, thispaper analyzes and studies inquiry-based teaching in junior high school geometry from bothaspects of theory and practice. By analyzing the degree of combination of IT and geometricboth at home and abroad, this paper also combines Chinese unique national conditions withcharacteristics and structures of geometry, states new conception and designs new patternsand processes. According to this new design, we conduct specific case design, analysis andsummary.During the process of constantly exploration, learners experience the whole process oflearning and understand how to acquire knowledge, which help learners construct newknowledge and master the basic methods of inquiry. It is worth discussing about furtherexploring geometrical theory and practice.
