One of the important issues in the exercise teaching is problem solving. It helpshigh school students to consolidate and extend the understanding of the concept andlaws of physics and construct cognitive structure for resolving physical problems. Atthe same time, it is the main way to check the learning results. Exercise teaching is animportant way for teachers to help students to have a deep understanding of theexercises and enhance their scores of the exercises. But in the practice, the effect ofexercise teaching is not satisfactory. The main reason is that the problem that teacherhas explained can still produce a variety of thought disorders for the students. Thispaper aims to solve the problem from the analysis of cognitive psychology andphysics teaching theory and explore the thought disorders and the causes in thethinking process of students’ physical problem-solving, providing somerecommendations for exercise teaching.This study analyzed thinking process of physics problem-solving from the theoryof problem solving in psychology, made a description of the physics problem-solvingthinking process in high school, resulted in a thinking flowchart. Then we designedsemi-structured interviews according to the theory of the thinking process,interviewed five representative students to collect the thinking of the problem-solvingprocess, summarizes the main types of problem-solving thinking obstacles, andanalyzed the causes of these obstacles, proposed recommendations to improveexercise teaching.
