As the pace of life continues to increase, stress crashes into our vision frequently, reports related stress almost dominates headlines and stress has become a hot topic. Correlation studies show that stress has been one of the most important factors which threatens college students’ mental health and influences the construction of harmonious college campus; in addition, stress has become the principal problem of college students who come to psychological inquiry room. For this reason, this study is focus on college students’stress; anxiety is used as the index of mental health, to investigate the function of rumination between stress and anxiety. Making an attempt to reduce the influence of stress on college students’mental health, ensure college student administration carry on smoothly and provide theoretical direction for harmonious college campus construction.According to the investigation and interview on586college students, the result shows that:1. College students’stress mainly come from study and employment, interpersonal interaction (including communicating with other gender and sex), economy and living conditions, and which should be the focal point of college management and psychological education.2. There are significant differences of stress in gender, grade, origins or siblings number. Contacting with other gender and sex, law and legal action are different in gender. Academic achievement and future, contacting with other gender and sex. Health and casualty, living conditions and change, law and legal action are different in grade. Economic engagements is different in siblings number. Family relationship and unforeseen and economic engagements is different in origins.3.There are significant difference of rumination in gender and grade, but not in other demographic variables.4. There is no significant difference between anxiety level and the national norm, but in grade.5. Anxiety is positive related with stress and the eight dimensions, rumination and the three dimensions are positive related with anxiety. Stress and rumination are significantly predicted anxiety, but rumination does’t moderate stress and anxiety.6. Based on empirical research, this study proposes that university administrators should strengthen learning and vocational guidance work, reinforce and improve the logistics management and mental health education system. College students should learn some stress management and emotion regulation strategies.
