Class lead-in is one of the organic components in the whole process of teaching, especially for the geography class. The effect of teaching is determined by whether the class lead-in is bad or good. But at the present, the class lead-in of the middle school geographic classes is ignored by the majority of people, not only the teachers but also the leaders in school. On the other hand, the system of our teaching materials is so complex that the teachers have to spend a great of time to find the orderliness of the whole book. What’s more, the writing style of the materials is different from each other and the content of the book is simplified from the past, which increasing the difficulty for the teachers to explore a good classroom lead-in. So it is necessary to have a class lead-in which aims the book to the key point and has its own practical significance to increase the student’s interests and improve the teaching quality. First, the paper summarized a lot of lead-in theories and methods in geographic classes, and then based on methods of literature review and questionnaire about the existing situation of geography class lead-in in middle school. The study list many class lead-in examples to fit the different contents of the People’s Education Press edition’s geographic book in senior two and also apply them to my practice class teaching. In order to improve my class lead-in methods, I am not only just apply them to my classes but also optimizes them step by step through my observation to the students in class, making interviews out of class and exchanging ideas with my colleagues together. Corresponding class lead-in measures have been put forward in this article to enrich the geographic class’s sources in middle school and to provide important references to the teachers who are in service.
