The basic education is the foundation engineering of rejuvenating the countrythrough science and education. Deepen the reform of basic education, to promotequality education, is the focus of the current education reform. The problem of China’sschoolwork burden on students has been formed a long time and it has always beenthe focus of the government education departments and the majority of parents,especially for the ordinary high school. Because it face to face with the student lifeturning point--college entrance examination, the ordinary high school become theproblem areas of students’ schoolwork burden. This article is based on extensiveinvestigation on schoolwork burden of a demonstrative senior high school (A school)and a normal senior high school (B school) in the eastern Y county, to show theordinary senior high school students’ schoolwork burden status of a typical industrialcounty in our Country, and find out the reasons and adverse effects of schoolworkburden for our current senior high school students, and put forward thecountermeasures and measures of reducing the burden for high school education.Thisarticle in order to provide recommendations and experience for the reform of thecounty’s education research and and provide a reasonable basis for the developmentof educational policy planning in the education department.This study is divided into five chapters:The First chapter is the introduction of the thesis. It mainly introduces the paper’sresearch background, research significance, research status at home and abroad,research methods, and research ideas.The second chapter is the display of the investigation process and researchresults of the schoolwork burden status of the two ordinary high school students ineastern Y County.The survey results are showing as follows:1.The school time of thetwo schools students is more than State-prescribed time.2.Demonstrative high schoolcan be in accordance with the provisions of schedule class, but ordinary high schoolhas greatly reduced the college entrance examination subjects.3.Demonstrative highschool students’ time of finishing the homework at ordinary times are more thanordinary high school students’, and the ordinary high school students’ tutoring time issignificantly higher than demonstrative high school students’ at the weekend.4.Twogrades of the two school students’ daily per capita discretionary time is about1hour,and it is relatively low.5. Two grades of the two school students’ average daily sleeping time is less than7hours, and it can not meet the hours of sleep prescribed bythe State.6. Two grades of the two school students’ per capita level of psychologicalpressure is tend to the normal state.7. Cluster analysis results showed that thestudents’ schoolwork burden of the four classes in B school is from similar sources,and the students’ schoolwork burden of the experimental classes of the two grades inA school is also from similar sources.8. The Correlation Analysis show that academicperformance showed a significant positive correlation with daily sleep time, and itshowed a significant negative correlation with mental pressure.The third chapter is according to the survey results to analyze the causes of thecurrent ordinary senior high school students’ schoolwork burden. The research foundthat the heavy academic burden is rooted in the administrative departments ofeducation’s evaluation system for the teachers is unreasonable and social pursuit offamous universities.The fourth chapter mainly elaborates that the heavy schoolwork burden is harmto the middle school students’ physical and psychological development, as well as theimpact of the implementation of quality education in china.The fifth chapter proposed the countermeasures and the suggestions to alleviatethe schoolwork burden of senior high school students according to the researchresults.The key lies in the cognition of educational administrative burden on schoolsand teachers evaluation system reform and transformation of the majority of parentsand students on personal development.The reform of evaluation system on schoolsand teachers of educational administrative departments and the transformation of theparents and the students’ awareness of personal development is the key to reduce theschoolwork burden.At the same time, other solutions also has been related in thispaper,such as the reform of the examination system, improve the level of schoolmanagement, the reform of curriculum content, etc.
