Research On Employment Situation Of Higher Vocational Education Graduates In Hebei Province

As an important part of the college students, higher vocational graduates are alsoan important human resource support of socio-economic development in China.However, compared with college graduates and vocational graduates, the pressure onemployment for higher vocational graduates is greater, and the employment problemis more prominent. To find out the existing problems of higher vocational graduatesemployment, enhance the competitiveness of the graduates in employment, is the keyto enhance our country’s occupation education attraction, and promote the healthydevelopment of economy and society.Based on the investigation and induction of the research status on employmentof higher vocational graduates at home and abroad, graduates of vocational collegesin Hebei Province are chose as the object of study. Questionnaire surveys anddiscussion visits are conducted on the overall situation of employment, level of wage,nature of the employment unit, promotion, profession counterparts, stability ofemployment, and job satisfaction.The results show that the employment situation of higher vocational graduates inHebei province is severe, and the quality of employment and employment stabilityneeds to be improved. What’s more, there are also other problems such asemployment discrimination and employment information communication channel isinsufficient unobstructed. Especially the higher vocational graduates from ruralregion are in a vulnerable status in employment.This study suggests that, the ultimate causes of the problems in the employmentof higher vocational graduates are mainly social cognitive deviation, ingraineddiscrimination on higher vocational education, talent high consumption, malpracticein the current policy system and employment information channels are insufficientunobstructed. Thus, employment guidance service for higher vocational graduatesneeds further improvement. This study proposes countermeasures and suggestions to improve theemployment situation of higher vocational graduates in Hebei province. Firstly, thegovernment should to innovate on the social management system, improve themarket-oriented employment mechanism, strengthen the supervision of the labormarket and continue to increase input in education. Secondly, the higher vocationalcolleges should adjust the speciality provision according to the needs of market,improve the quality of personnel training, promote graduates’ employment ability andstrengthen graduates’ employment guidance service. Thirdly, higher vocationalgraduates should enhance their comprehensive quality in the colleges, program theiroccupation career during the education, orient their life goals in an accurate way, andmake great efforts to adapt to the job requirements.
