Under the background of global integration,civic education has become a hottopic of concern for modern society. In the field of education, United States, Britain,France and other countries have special, direct civic education curriculum, and theypay more attention to practice, participation, experience obtained. After thecurriculum reform in primary education,“moral and social”become the product of thetransition from the ideological and moral curriculum to civic education curriculum.The curriculum standard explicitly pointed out “for the students to understand society,to participate in social, to adapt to society, to lay a good foundation becomecitizens...”which has obvious civic education tendency, a number of scholars took“moral and social”as civic education curriculum. So this research take“moral andsocial”as the representative of civic education curriculum in primary school.But in ourcountry, the civic education teaching task mainly completed in the classroom,which isinconvenience for learners to practice.How to break through the limitations of timeand space, to provide students with the opportunity to practice, to develop the practicechannel in the limited teaching environment, is a problem deserving thinking andlooking for solutions.As the union product of games and education, educational games has receivedmore and more attention and recognition.The player can get platform of practicethrough the virtual reality scenes in RPG educational game,they get the opportunity topractice and exploration in the process of completing the task.Therefore, RPGeducational game combines with the teaching of civic education curriculum inprimary school, allowing the player to practice in the classroom. And I conducted theresearch from the part of design, development, and classroom applications in RPGeducational game,which is based on the contents of civic education curriculum inprimary school.This paper mainly consists the following five parts: the first chapter isintroduction, focus on why I concerned about this theme, and then analyzed theresearches about the topics of domestic and foreign, finally determined the researchtopic,and also illustrated the research contents and methods.Chapter II:“From the civil education to civic education curriculum in primaryschool”, mainly complete the carding from civic education, civic education in school,then to the civic education curriculum, and ultimately take“moral and social”as therepresentative of civic education curriculum in primary school. Civic education, is tocultivate the qualified citizen and carry out education. Three aspects of its content ismainly embodied in the citizen attitudes and values, civic knowledge and civic skills.Civic Education in schools is the main implementation way of civic education. Andcivic education curriculum is the most basic and important way for civic education in school. Mention of civic education curriculum,people are very easy to associate theideological and moral course.Both of the two are integrated curriculum, but not thesame in the subject.Educational function is the main function of the formercurriculum, social service function is the extension function for it;The latter also haseducational function, which is oriented society and take the former as foundation andprecondition;Curriculum task unfolds around the function of the course.After thecurriculum reform in primary education,“moral and social”become the product of thetransition from the ideological and moral curriculum to civic education curriculum.The curriculum standards has obvious civic education tendency, a number of scholarstook “moral and social”as civic education curriculum. So this research take“moral andsocial”as the representative of civic education curriculum in primary school.Chapter III:After analyzing the structure,characteristics and content of “moraland social”,which is the representative of civic education curriculum in primaryschool, clearing teaching requirements of the course, as well as some problems,suchas,the presence of teachers is difficult to guarantee,the students’ participation in theabsence,ignore the context of life,social practice is difficult to get the security andother issues,all the issues indicated the civic education curriculum in primary schoolsneed new teaching methods to guarantee the social practice of learners. On this basis,analyzed the characteristics of RPG educational game, the feasibility and advantageswhen applied RPG educational game to the teaching of civic education curriculum inprimary school,which laid a solid foundation for the combination of both.Chapter IV mainly talked about the design of RPG educational games that basedon civic education curriculum in primary schools, firstly the means of civic educationpenetrated into the game elements, and then the overall design module of the gamefuses with the nstructional design of civic education,at last a RPG educational gamesmodel about civic education was constructed. Then I designed and developed aspecific game named “Encircle Wuxi”based on the content of the fourth unit“hometown nurtured me”from“personal character and society”in third grade ofJiangsu.The chapter V mainly aimed at the classroom application of“Encircle Wuxi”.Firstly, the game “Encircle Wuxi”will be applied to the teaching in the third gradeprimary school classroom, and the instructional design can be divided into threestages:from“game”to“the game”and then to“game”.In order to understand the practiceof the learners after appling the RPG educational game into civic education ofprimary school, the author observed all the students from a class in grade three ofWuxi T school,and conducted a case study of the“slow students”W and “the eugenics”H.At last, the practice came to the conclusion:it is feasible to use RPG educationalgames as the platform of civic education in primary school,the use of RPGeducational games promote learners’ enthusiasm, but the use of RPG educationalgames bring new challenges to the teachers. Chapter Ⅵ maked a summary,illustrated the results of research and innovation,lack of reflection as well as the outlook for future research.
