The development of education informatization accelerates the integration of information technology and educational. As a research focus in the field of education technology, educational game is getting more attention recently. Education game aims to the education and game just a tool, provides an "Edutainment" way of learning.This study first introduced the theoretical foundations of education game, such as situated cognitive theory, flow theory, intrinsic motivation and cognitive load theory. Then, the progress on the study of education games both at home and abroad, especially in science education were summarized. Combined with the research of the theoretical foundations and the design model of education game, the author chooses the junior high school physics "science inquiry:Newton’s First Low" as the main content, and uses a software named Unity3D to develop. After that, the author used its game in junior high school’s physics classroom. Students’ physical knowledge was assessed before and after the class. Their motivation, cognitive load of classroom learning was measured after the class.Data showed that, on the one hand, during learning, students had a moderate level of interest and enjoyment, as well as self-confidence. On the other hand, they didn’t have much cognitive load and didn’t feel stressed during learning. Besides, students who were guided by teachers while using game perform better than those who use game by themselves on physical posttest. At the end of this thesis, the author summarizes the research’s conclusion, the disadvantage and limitation, and improves in the future research.
