The Mandarin learning strategies of Mongolian junior students who are taught by Mongolian at school are the subject of this study. Their strategies belong to the field of second language learning strategies, which influence the scores of their Mandarin learning. To study the Mandarin learning strategies of Mongolian junior students who are taught by Mongolian at school is important for both improving the Mandarin learning ability and improving Mogolian-Mandarin bilingual education. It is crucial in theory and practical fields. Based on the theory of language learning and the former studies of language learning strategies, the present study worked out both the structure and the scale of the Mandarin learning strategies of Mongolian junior students. After having tested its reliability and validity, the results revealed that the scale is reliable and valid. Thus it is effective for the study of the learning strategies. The study investigated418junior students in Huhehaote city and Tongliao city, Inner Mongolia Province. It reveals that the Mongolian junior students used the Mandarin learning strategies usually or quite often. The influencing factors such as gender, grade, learning years of Mandarin and the Mandarin scores are studied respectively. We got the conclusion:(1) the girls used all of the strategies more often than the boys. To be exact, gender difference is significant in the feedback strategies, regulation strategies, searching and application strategies.(2)Grade difference is significant in meta-cognitive strategies, emotional strategies, feedback strategies, cognitive strategies, regulation strategies, but not in searching and application strategies. Compared with the students of grade8, those strategies are used more often by grade7and grade9.(3) feed-back strategies, regulation strategies and searching and application strategies are significantly relative with the Mandarin scores.
