The study field of student learning difficulties has been officially established for more than 40 years. At present, the field has increasingly attracted the attention of the education community. In particular, with the official introduction of the new national college entrance examination policy in 2017,schools and society have higher requirements for students' learning ability.Under the background of basic education reform, the main factors affecting junior high school students' academic performance will be explored, and corresponding solutions and countermeasures will be sought in order to give effective help to students with learning difficulties and to stimulate the learning potential of poorly-study students, thereby enhancing them. The academic performance of this study has a very important significance for the healthy growth of students and even for the harmonious development of the entire society. This article mainly focuses on the students of the two second grade secondary schools in Changsha City as subjects of study, and uses literature, questionnaires, interviews, and case-based interventions to investigate and understand the major factors affecting junior high school students' academic performance. At the same time, what methods and countermeasures individuals, schools, and families should take should be explored to make students with academic difficulties have some academic achievements.By referring to a large number of documents, this study designed 40 questions from two broad categories of external and internal factors that affect the academic performance of junior high school students.Questionnaire surveys were conducted. From the nearly 400 questionnaires returned, the best performing non-learning group and poor grades were selected. The study group of the school conducted a comparative analysis. At the same time, dialogues and interviews were conducted on individual students with excellent academic performance and learning difficulties, and corresponding intervention studies were conducted on typical students with learning difficulties. It is concluded that internal factors are the main aspects affecting junior high school students' academic performance, especially the characteristics of student attention, motivation, learning strategies,self-efficacy and negative emotional experience. In terms of external factors, proper parental attention and correct education methods and a harmonious family atmosphere have a significant correlation with students' academic performance. Therefore,we should strive to create a harmonious family relationship, and pay attention to nurturing students' good learning habits and the excellent quality of learning and hard work.At the same time,we should strengthen the relationship between schools and families, provide guidance for learning methods, and help learners learn to learn. The goal of struggle is to obtain the self-efficacy of learning, and to form a benign development that is willing to learn, learn, and love learning.Although this study has achieved certain results, there are also some deficiencies, such as: the impact of the school is not widely involved.
