Educational equity is reflected in three aspects:equal educational opportunities, fair educational content and fair educational evaluation. National long-term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020) is not only insisting in improving quality and promoting fair as the basic principle, it is also proposing vigorously to develop education in minority areas. Improving the academic achievement of students in minority areas is one of the important measures to meet the needs of society and promote equality, whereas improving mathematical problem-solving ability is the key to improve the math scores of senior3middle school students in minority areas. Thus, basing on preliminary research and large numbers of literature reference, the author has done a lot of enduring field work in the framework of cognitive anthropology, using the methods of comparation, case study, natural experiment, participant observation and mixed methodology of quantitative research and qualitative inquire. Furthermore, on the basis of problem awareness-problem space-solutions index system, the paper deeply studies on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of6science students in Grade3of No.1Senior School of Dulong and Nu Autonomous County, putting forward corresponding educational methods based on their cognitive characteristics. The paper is divided into three parts:The first chapter introduces the background of the research, the build of problem-solving capability index system, the process of data extraction and preliminary statistical analysis; The second chapter conducts quantitative analysis of the case students’problem-solving abilities from the dimensions of problem awareness, problem space and solution; The third chapter conducts qualitative analysis of the compared case students of their characteristics, and puts forward teaching suggestions according to the case study. Finally, the paper comes to these conclusions:1) Mathematical problem-solving abilities have greater impact on6Senior Three case students;2) Education according to case-based students’characteristics and traits helps to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, thus contributes to improve the students’performance so as to realize educational equity.
