Relationship Between Locus Of Control, Sense Of Belonging And Ethical Decision-Making Among Chinese-Korean College Students

Sense of belonging (SOB) is defined as the experience of personal involvement in a system or environment so that persons feel themselves to be an integral part of that system or environment. It influenced by the locus of control, ethnic and other individual/social variables, but also affect ethical decision-making, happiness and other human emotion or behavior. Especially affect the members of the multi-ethnic society, related to the social behavior and also can affect the harmony of society. The study will perfect the theory of sense of belonging and also can promote moral education. Based on it, by the method of questionnaire, locus of control, sense of belonging and ethical decision-making were invested, in1260college students, in order to discuss the relationship of them three variables. Results showed that:(1)Chinese-Korean college students at a medium level in sense of belonging, ethical decision-making showed some differences in words and deeds, affected mainly by sex, age and home environment. Sense of belonging showed a "U" structure with grade increasing, ethical decision-making reduced in level with grades increasing.(2)Locus of control affecting the ethical decision-making, and mediatored by sense of belonging. Internal control type is positive, external control type is passive, higher level in sense of belonging results higher level of ethical decision-making.(3)The relationship between sense of belonging and ethical decision-making moderatored by locus of control. Internal control types need to focus on training ability to participate, powerful other types need to focus on training the ability dealing with relationship, chance types need to focus on the ability to participate and environmental identity.(4)An interaction affects appeared between sense of belonging and the antecedents, can be divided into high antecedent-high SOB, high antecedent-low SOB, low antecedent-high SOB, low antecedent-low SOB and general types. Low antecedent-high SOB were at the best level of ethical decision-making, low antecedent-low SOB were main object of moral education, high antecedent-high SOB were purpose of moral education and high antecedent-low SOB were main prevention object that may cause serious psychological problems.
