The game is an indispensable part of our lives and it brings us joy, relaxation, pleasure. But oftenpeople just recognize negative part of entertainment, that "play" is lazy and does nothing, for example,commonly known as " play through life and have no serious ambition”” expertise into neglected in play ".But when you really go back to nature, you will find the game may bring people not only vivre.With the development of information technology, electronic games are becoming a very popular toolof entertainment in people’s lives. At the same time, in the environment of quality education and newcurriculum reform, students’ learning initiative and experience have been focused increasingly. It isimminent to reform the shortcomings of traditional approach to learning, to promote the multi-dimensionalmodern learning methods.To achieve quality education, it is an important way to integrate educational theory into game flexibly,so that learners can enjoy the entertainment in the game, at the same time, acquire knowledgeunconsciously and enhance learning efficiency. If educational games can get rid of the negative impact oftraditional electronic games, and eventually be used for education, it will bring about enormous social andeducational benefits.This article analyzes the development status of RPG game and educational game, concluding that theuse of RPG educational games in the history classroom can improve teaching and learning environment,advance learning efficiency, and promote the comprehensive development of young people. Based on thediscussion of learning theory and educational game development technology, we try to use RMXP as a toolto develop history theme RPG game, propose a historical RPG educational game development model, andmake a RPG educational game according to the model, then verify the effectiveness of RPG educationalgames in history classroom.The purpose of this paper is to explore approach on the making and using of educational games in thejunior high school history class, forward to bring some new changes in classroom. The innovation of thispaper there are three: analysis the feasibility of using RMXP to develop RPG educational games; propose anew transmission mode of knowledge in RPG educational games; make a experiment using self- counseling model.
