The first class of history class in junior high school shoulders major responsibility in disseminatingknowledge of history and culture, cultivating students’ history learning ability, cultivating students’sentiments, it plays an important role in basic education. With the rapid development of society and science&technology, the society proposed higher standard for talents quality, the shortcomings of the traditionalteaching-oriented first class are increasingly exposed. Therefore, the educational circles constantlyinvestigated and reformed the teaching of all subjects, including various effective explorations in thehistory class in junior high school. As an extension of the first class, the second class of the history class injunior high school has become an integral part of the teaching system of the history class in junior highschool. The studies discovered that implementing series of activities related to the second class of history isconducive to further optimizing students’ knowledge structure in history, helping them to grasp morehistory knowledge and laying good foundation for students in engaging comprehensive studies. In addition,China’s reform and opening up has been deepening, if the students do not master the complex socialphenomenon that generated in the current social background, they can not adapt to the society aftergraduation as soon as possible. Actively participated in the activities related to the second class of historycan gradually enhance students’ competitive and adaptive capacity and help students in adapting to societyas soon as possible.In recent years, from the comprehensive survey on the course of history teaching reform, it is obviousthat new reform idea of history class has enjoyed popular support and obtained attention and developmentin practice. The second class with various forms that is rich in content, such as historic visiting activities,history interesting team highlighted its distinctiveness. However, the reality is that the classroomteaching-oriented first class fails to complete all of the educational tasks, the implementation of the secondclass of history didn’t obtain serious attention in teaching. Students’ dominant position didn’t be realized,the teacher’s teaching methods are simple and crude, lacking of necessary instructional resources. Thus theconnection between the first class and the second class of history class in junior high school is not smooth.Based on questionnaire survey and in-depth observation in history class, through comprehensiveanalysis and previous studies, this paper discovered that as the effective supplement of the first class, the second class of history class is featured with rich learning contents, open space-time, independentparticipant, comprehensive learning effect, practical process, creative results, etc. It plays an important rolein cultivating students learning interest, expanding students’ knowledge channels, promoting students’physical and psychological health, stimulating students’ patriotic enthusiasm, etc. In addition, this paperproposed corresponding measurements according to the actual teaching demands of the history class torealize effective connection between the first class and the second class of history class in junior highschool and provide a reference for successful application of new history curriculum reform in historyteaching activities in Junior high school.This paper firstly briefly introduced the researched topic, as well as the significance, contents,materials, focus, difficulties, methods and innovation points of this research. The first chapter of this paperelaborated the concepts of “the first class” and “the second class”, the current situation of the first class ofthe history class, setting reason, role, features and the setting forms of the second class of history class, aswell as the relations between the first class and the second class of history class. The second chapterintroduced the current situation and analysis on problems of the second class of history class, whichspecifically expressed that the new curriculum reform may not be implemented in place, students’ dominantposition didn’t be realized, the teacher’s teaching methods are simple and crude, lacking of necessaryinstructional resources. The third chapter introduced strategy and methods of effective connection betweenthese two classes. The method one is realizing effective connection based on the first class, the secondmethod is realizing effective connection during the implementation of the second class. The fourth chapterelaborated the guarantees of effective connection between the first and second class. One is thefundamental guarantee-realizing effective connection between educational guiding ideology and teachingobjectives. The second is the basic guarantee-realizing effective connection between teaching contents andteaching method. The third one is the impetus guarantee-realizing effective connection between teachersand students. This paper also put forwarded the problems that existed in the connection process of first andsecond class of history class. The first problem is that the second class must depend on the first class. Thesecond problem is that the second class should rely on the actual learning situation. The third problem isthat the second class requires the teacher to prepare well. The last part of this paper is the summary.In conclusion, realizing effective connection between the first class and the second class of the history class can not only help the students to digest the history knowledge of the first class, but also play animportant role in improving students ability and cultivating students’ ideology and morality, etc.
