With the attention of China’s Ministry of Education, it is gradually strengthened to carry forward thetraditional folk culture in the fine art teaching of basic education. As an important branch of Henan folk art-Henan folk clay sculpture art, undoubtedly constitute the present substances entity of the progress ofZhongyuan civilization and the clear proof of the historical and cultural.However, along with the rapiddevelopment of society, the precious heritage scattered in the folk also limited by geographical and agerestrictions, is on the edge of the disappearing. Nothing is the more effective and extensive way that getsmore people to understand and inherit Henan Folk clay sculpture art than education.The school is the placefor students’ education, also the main medium of folk art communication with students. Students in juniormiddle school during the mental and cognitive gradually mature, while the flexibility of their thinking isvery significant.This is undoubtedly advancing Henan folk clay sculpture art into the middle schoolcurriculum and promoting its sustainable development, meanwhile it has a certain practical significance forrich the resources of middle school arts teaching, as well as to respond to the new curriculum reformphilosophy of art education.The study is limited in the extent of Henan folk clay sculpture art and junior middle school artteaching, and select the classical non-material cultural heritage-Huaiyang clay dogs and Junxian mudcuckoo art of Henan Folk clay sculpture art as the main subject, discussing the internal relations of Henanfolk clay sculpture artistic value and junior middle school art education. Based on the generalizingliterature and questionnaire survey, acknowledge the cognitive degree of students and teachers in juniormiddle school to Henan folk clay sculpture art and its acceptance and expectations of Henan folk claysculpture art integrated into junior middle school teaching; with the pedagogy knowledge, propose theinitial specific strategies, and according to that develop teaching practice.
