Due to the relatively open international environment and the current trend of modernization,globalization and commercialization,Chinese traditional culture has been unprecedentedly impacted by the large number of incoming foreign cultures.Cultural aggression is a normal phenomenon.Some young people increasingly prefer the foreign culture,which leads to the ignorance of many excellent traditional cultures by the public and lack of successors.Therefore,some of China's outstanding traditional handicrafts are endangered.Clay sculpture is one of the oldest forms of Chinese traditional folk art with gorgeous color,beautiful shape and freehand brushwork.Love and beauty are conveyed by the deep humanistic spirit contained in the clay sculptures,as well as the complex and meticulous production techniques of clay sculptures.However heritages of traditional clay sculptures reduced sharply.Childhood education will have a profound impact on people's outlook on world,life and values.It is essential to the children to be educated with excellent traditional culture in this stage,which will enhance their understanding on the traditional culture and will have a profound significance in their future life.Children tend to feel the beauty of folk art in the process of learning traditional clay sculptures.Based on the above,this study is trying to discover the problems in traditional clay sculpture teaching through objectively analyzing the current situation of clay sculpture teaching,and put forward the corresponding effective strategies in order to carry out scientific traditional clay sculpture teaching in kindergarten.This research mainly adopts four kinds of methods to study the development of traditional clay sculpture teaching in kindergarten,especially in S province: observation,documentary,questionnaire and interview method,taking 8 kindergartens in S province as the main observation object,together with questionnaire survey on another ten domestic kindergartens.This article includes three parts: introduction,body part and conclusion.The introduction part offers brief research and comments on the domestic literature of the traditional clay sculpture and traditional clay sculpture teaching.The research methods,research significance,research ideas and innovations are stated in this paper,to lay a theoretical foundation for the study.The body part of this thesis contains four chapters:Chapter 1 offers an overview on traditional clay sculpture teaching.Firstly,the core concepts of the traditional clay sculpture and traditional clay sculpture teaching are defined.Secondly,technological process of the traditional clay sculpture is described,with ultimately analysis on the characteristics and value of the traditional clay sculpture teaching,in the hope that the traditional clay sculpture would attract the attention of the public,especially the kindergartens.Chapter 2 conducts an investigation of the present situation of traditional clay sculpture teaching in kindergarten.The investigation are carried out from four aspects: the basic development of traditional clay sculpture education,the craftsmanship of the teachers on traditional clay sculpture,the acknowledgement of children and their parents to the traditional clay sculpture,and the supporting conditions of traditional clay sculpture teaching in kindergarten.Chapter 3 performs a whole analysis on the existing problems in the traditional clay sculpture teaching.According to the questionnaire and interview results and the author's internship experience,problems are found in four aspects: craftsmanship of the teachers,teaching material,activity implementation and supporting conditions.The causes of the problems are analyzed from the four aspects: teachers' lack of clay sculpture literacy,complex making process,lack of understanding on traditional clay sculpture by kindergarten and parents,and the imperfection of pre-service education and post-vocational training.Reason for the slow development of the clay teaching in kindergarten is fully analyzed.Chapter 4 puts forward the improvement strategies from five dimensions:teaching method,teacher,kindergarten condition support,national policy and innovation.Firstly,carry out the traditional clay sculpture teaching activities in kindergarten scientifically and systematically.Secondly,comprehensively improve the craftsmanship of the teachers on traditional clay sculpture.Thirdly,strengthen the internal and external support conditions of the kindergarten.Fourth,we expect the national policy to give some teaching supports to the traditional clay sculpture in kindergarten from the macro level.The last but not the least,innovate the production process,the subject and the color of the traditional clay sculpture.The conclusion part reiterates the significance and value of traditional clay sculpture teaching in kindergarten,combs the written ideas and structural framework of this paper,points out the shortcomings of the research,and clarifies the direction of the author's efforts in the future.
