Post-80s Female Postgraduate Mate Selection Status Study

This research based on the relative theory of mate selection, by using sociology quantitative research, according to questionnaires about female postgraduate of Wuhan seven universities, comprehensive and systemic describe the mate selection status of post-80s female postgraduate, discuss the difficulties of post-80s female postgraduate and attempt to think how to solve post-80s female postgraduate mate selection difficulties. The main content of the paper includes five chapters:introduction, research design, result analysis, reason analysis, conclusion and suggestion. The description of post-80s female postgraduate mate selection status divides into two parts:one is describe mate selection values and mate selection behaviors; the other is study the reason of post-80s female postgraduate mate selection difficulties by regression model. The paper studies the post-80s values from three aspects:marriage value, mate selection motivation and mate selection standard; and studies the behaviors from two aspects:mate selection attitude and mate selection mode. Except that, the paper put forward research hypotheses basing social exchange theory, mate selection gradient theory and the evolution of mate choice theory. According to regression explains post-80s female postgraduate mate selection difficulties tentatively.The survey shows that post-80s female postgraduate do not pay much attention on their mate selection problems. At the same time they have romantic attitude to loving and marriage and they care about spirit factor. Besides they get high self-evaluation so that they think that they are popular in mate selection market and have higher mate selection standard, especially on education and age.The regression model results shows that the higher self-evaluation and mate selection standard post-80s female postgraduate get, the harder they find their ideal partner。 The "marriage value" and "mate selection motivation" also affect their mate selection, especially the latter。 In addition, parents interfere with the post-80s mate selection process make it more difficult。...
