Over the decades, the traditional method of teaching English in secondary school has been widely criticized due to its various problems and shortcomings. The recent introduction of the Curriculum Standards for English, published by the Ministry of Education, has set new criteria for the reform of teaching English in high school. However, crisis also means opportunity. Along with the progress of the integration between information technology and English curriculum, the application of artificial intelligence will bring new opportunities in optimizing the process of English teaching in secondary school. Meanwhile, it will also provide a new platform for the establishment of English learning environment that is intelligent and personalized.In such context, this paper is oriented in the integration of information technology and English curriculum. This study utilized the research methods such as interview method, and analytic method on related theories and literatures from the fields like pedagogies and new curriculum theories, to discuss the implementation of the artificial intelligence in teaching English in secondary school, and from the perspective of the students who are majored in Modern Educational Technology, the author adopted artificial intelligence technologies such as nature language understanding, machine learning and intelligent search, in order to design an artificial intelligence module for secondary school English teaching, and to explore the implementations specifically. This can also be found intensively discussed in Part Three, where it contained the specific implementations in optimizing the secondary school English teaching methods and effectiveness. In summary, the implementation of the artificial intelligence, which meets the new criteria in the new curriculum reform, is in line with the teaching English in secondary school. However, the artificial intelligence may never replace the role of secondary English teachers due to its unavoidable disadvantages. If the learner does not put any efforts, artificial intelligence will have very little effect on teaching outcomes.
