Information technology (IT) is an essential skill in human life in the future. And one of the key factors on which the quality of IT education depends is IT teachers. At the same time, IT has a revolutionary effect on education development. So, as the main participators of education informatization, the IT teachers are sure to make a great effect on the education informatization development. So the research which focuses on the professional development of IT teacher will be of much value.By the methods of consulting literature, this paper defined some concepts related with professional development of teachers and the quality constitution of IT teachers of at first. Secondly, this paper takes IT teachers of senior middle school in Fujian Province as the object of this dissertation, by questionnaire survey and interview, we get to know the present situation of professional development of IT teachers of senior middle school in Fujian Province from the following five aspects:basic personal information, professional affection, professional knowledge, professional abilities and professional development activities in recent years. Then, this paper analyzed the achievements and problems. At last, by consulting literatures and interviewing, it tried to come up with some concrete and practicable strategies to promote the professional development of IT teachers of senior middle school in Fujian Province.
