High school students’ academic achievement has been the concern of parents, teachers andstudents all the way. Many factors account for this problem, such as how to plan your time reasonably, howto arrange time effectively and how to make full use of time. Self-monitoring in time management andfuture time perspective is the important branch of time psychology, it has both theoretical and practicalsignificance to explore the relationship between self-monitoring,time perspective in time management andacademic achievement.Based on the previous research and the present domestic culture background, this study selectedcommon students in high school as the object using the questionnaire method and investigated therelationship between self-monitoring in time management, future time perspective and academicachievement systematically. Through a survey of550students, the conclusions were as follows accordingto the data analysis results.1. Students’ self-monitoring in time management had a remarkable difference in demographyvariables such as gender and grade factors.2. Students’ future plan in future time perspective existed significant difference in differentgenders; Future negative and future confusion factors existed significant difference in urban and rural areas’variable; Future confusion factor existed significant difference in grade variable.3. Openness in students’ self-monitoring in time management had significant positive predictability to students’ academic achievement, Chinese achievement, mathematical achievement and Englishachievement; temporal planning had extremely significant negative predict ability to students’ academicachievement and mathematical achievement;4. Students’ future negative in future time perspective of time management had extremelysignificant positive predict ability to academic achievement.
