For junior middle school students,the main task of their stage is to learn and develop themselves.The ability to academic delayed of gratification is one of the most important indicators of a student's ability to resist the temptation to complete learning tasks in a learning situation.It is therefore particularly important for junior high school students to be able to complete their studies better.Future time perspective is a key factor influencing academic delayed of gratification.Previous research has shown that future time perspective has a significant impact on academic delayed of gratification.However,there is a need to further explore the factors that influence the relationship between future time perspective and academic delayed of gratification Guided by expectancy-value theory,this study examines the mediating role of time management disposition in the relationship between future time perspective and academic delayed of gratification,and the moderating role of self-control on the above mediating pathway.In this study,703 junior high school students(359 boys and 344 girls,mean age =13.5)in a junior high school in Heilongjiang Province were surveyed using the future time perspective questionnaire for Junior high school students,the academic delayed gratification scale,the adolescent time management disposition scale and the self-control ability questionnaire for Junior high School Students.The results were as followings:(1)Junior high school students' future time perspective had a significant positive predictive effect on academic delayed of gratification i.e.the higher the level of future time perspective,the stronger their academic delayed of gratification.(2)Junior high school students' time management disposition had a significant positive predictive effect on academic delayed of gratification,i.e.the higher the level of time management disposition,the stronger their academic delayed of gratification.(3)Junior high school students' understanding of future time perspective and time management disposition had a significant positive predictive effect,i.e.the higher the level of future time perspective,the higher the level of time management disposition.(4)The mediating effect test showed that time management disposition partially mediated the relationship between future time perspective and academic delayed of gratification.(5)The moderated mediation model further showed that self-control moderated the second half of the "future time perspective?time management disposition?academic delayed of gratification " pathway.That is,the effect of time management disposition on academic delayed of gratification decreases as self-control increases.
