Female university students of science and technology employment is relativelydifficult,the reason in addition to the traditional gender discrimination in the workplace,including other reasons,such as their work possible selves. In the university period, theirmajor or interest generated imaginations about the future occupation,which is workpossible selves. This kind of imagination at the macro level, covering the occupationtarget domain, the ideal working state, the ultimate occupation ideal,and so on; relates tothe salary and welfare, working place, colleague relationship, at the micro level. Andtheir imagine about the future occupation have positive and negative, positive ishoped-for work selves, negative is feared for wok selves.In order to know the development and characteristics of the gils’ work possibleselves, this research questionnaire of973university students’ work possible selves whomcome from Wuhan Institute of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology and HubeiInstitute for Nationalities.According to the statistical data of exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis and reliability and validity, the work possible selves weredivided into individual development、innovation ability、autonomy、occupation stabilityand regional selection.Because of this girls are different from liberal arts femalstudents,male university students of science and technology,graduate gils students inprofessional, gender and education background etc. Based on the characteristics of thestudy, being comparated with them, then we analys the development situation and featureabout female girl students of science and technology.Their work possible selves development coditions: the whole development are good,paying attention to personal development,job autonomy and stability.But the lack ofinnovation,work of additional dependent,low wok self-efficacy,and much fear aboutfuture work. Female university students of science and engineering work possible selves’ characteristics are mainly embodied in: exist grade difference, significant differencesbetween urban and rural areas, school type differences, income differences.Female university students of science and engineering work possible selves existingproblems not only include the lack of professional knowledge and skills, resulting in alack of self-confidence and one-sided view of employment, but also university has notprovided specific occupation education.The strategy of improving the hoped-for work selves of female university students ofscience and technology and reduce the feared is: Occupation field eliminating genderdiscrimination; the positive attention should be give enough to this special group fromuniversity,providing employment guidance and occupation planning for it; femaleuniversity students of science and engineering is required to improve their professionalknowledge and comprehensive quality of their own, to learn more professionalknowledge, improve the employment confidence, do a good job for the future occupationof psychological preparation.
