Frustration education is an effective measure to achieve higher vocational colleges’cultivating goals and improve college students’ comprehensive quality. The connotationof frustration education consists of two aspects: on the one hand, under the guidance ofscientific and educational thoughts, according to vocational college students’ physicaland mental development and the need of educating, in the process of education, weartificially create frustration so as to inspire college students’ potential, to develop theirhabit of facing frustration bravely and meet difficulties; on the other hand, we shouldcorrectly guide those students who are suffering from frustration to learn how toovercome the difficulty, cheer up from it and become a strong-willed person. Highervocational colleges develop frustration education with its special features from threeaspects: educational subject, educational object and the environment. Generally, it is anessential requirement to develop frustration education, an effective means to improvestudents’ comprehensive quality, an objective need for college students to adapt modernsociety, and an inevitable choice to enhance its practical effect. The overall goals offrustration education is to make students master the correct ways to deal with frustration,face the life optimistically, promote them to develop in an all-around way healthily.However, although the specific goals vary from three stages, they all support the generalgoal. Frustration education mainly involves in four parts: life frustration education,study frustration education, emotion frustration education and profession frustrationeducation. Vocational colleges could stick to four principals of combination: thecombination of infiltrating education and concentrating education, educating and selfeducating, the class teaching and social practice, as well as the combination of thecollege, family and society. Therefore, higher vocational colleges could expand thefrustration education in four ways from the college, the family, the society and thestudents themselves, which includes some specific approaches as the class infiltratingapproach, plot-creating teaching approach, role model approaches, psychologicalconsulting approach, etc.
