Frustration tolerance is the ability that the individual must have to cope with challenges and setbacksin a competitive society. Including the ability to cope with the challenge of daily life; Have the courage toface difficulties, strive forward; In the life and work in harmony with people. Frustration tolerance is alsoone of the important indicators of mental health. Students of higher vocational colleges are born after90,freshman at around18years old, a sharp change in the physical and mental development. The diversity ofmodern social choice, the uncertainty of life and the competition of living space, so that the students oftenfeel anxious, experience setbacks, so explore improve their frustration tolerance has extremely importantpractical significance. In the theory of frustration tolerance, Ellis setbacks cognitive (ABC) theory tomaintain the students’ physical and mental health, promote individual frustration tolerance has a strongguiding significance and maneuverability, brought to the attention of the researchers widely. Ellis thinksthat a person of different evaluation and understanding of the context of the stimulation can cause differentemotional and behavioral responses. People’s emotional problem is not caused by the event itself, but fromincorrect cognitive style. In circumstances of setback, by adjusting the individual cognition to the setbackscan change the bad feelings from setbacks.School Outward Bound with its unique way of experiential education quality to improve students’mental health education value, which is based on school physical education into the higher vocationalcolleges, whether it be a hardware facilities, or software facilities have no experience to follow. Forimproving the school Outward Bound’quality of teaching, explore method of teaching that promotefrustration tolerance in school Outward Bound. This study use Hao Binghui establishment of collegestudents’ frustration tolerance questionnaire for measuring tool. Using experimental design Before the testafter test, choose elective School Outward Bound’60students as the subjects, experimental class30people,comparative class30people. Using psychological expansion training school teaching platform to EllisABC cognitive regulation theory as the theoretical basis, by way of psychological health education,improve the experimental class student’s setback cognition, training of teachers by means of heuristicquestions, encourage students to combine theory with practice, improve the frustration tolerance. Contentof School Outward Bound of experimental class is same as comparative class. No psychology class and theteacher questions.Teaching experiment for15weeks,2hours a week, a total of30hours. The results show that:1. Experimental classes and that in comparative classes’ students after15weeks of teachingexperimental intervention, frustration tolerance level in the group increased significantly, differencereached the significant level.2. After15weeks of school psychology training study, frustration tolerance differences betweengroups of test reached the significant level.The study got following conclusions: first, School Outward Bound can improve the students’frustration tolerance in higher vocational colleges.Second; School Outward Bound combining withpsychological health education can better improve the students’ frustration tolerance in higher vocationalcolleges.This research adopts teaching method that the mental health education combining with SchoolOutward Bound, putting forward new ways that improving the teaching quality of School Outward Boundof higher vocational colleges, and demonstrates the special education value of School Outward Bound. Theresearch results not only can provide a reference for School Outward Bound’s teaching counterparts,alsoopening up a new way for the mental health education in higher vocational colleges.
