Since the reform and opening,Along with the advancement of Higher educationthe tendency of Individual presents demand diversification of higher education in ourcountry.Receiving higher education is not only a person’s a kind of choice, and it is afamily decision, it is related to all aspects of the society.Many rural families areincreasingly awaring of the importance of higher education, and trying to change thecurrent situation of theirselves, but the demand of higher education of rural familiesare increasing,the rural family to its demand is also more and more strong,the abilityto pay for higher education of rural residents is limited, and the prospects for collegegraduates is uncertain. So what’s the attitude of rural households for higher education?What are the factors affecting the demand? What are the characteristics of the ruralhousehold demand for higher education? Depth and detailed study of these issues areneed for the higher education needs of rural households.An east rural family as the research objects, the study analyzes the real need andcharacteristics of higher education of rural households in eastern area, View from theinterview data, J students and D parents have strong expectations of higher education.If not admitted to the university, the parents and the students are strongly pledged totry more until admitted to the university. Compared to urban households, the demandof rural households is more strong and urgent.The second,the needs for highereducation of rural households have the following characteristics: the parents havelittle influence on the choice on the students’ professional; the gender has no effect onJ’s demand; higher education spending will is too strong, and can’t match their abilityto pay; the demand for higher education showed a strong short-term utilitarianorientation.Finally, in the view of the higher education needs of rural family, Highereducation for rural families demand,From students’ own factors, family factors andhigher education factors, and based on these factors, present the view of the highereducation of rural households Suggestions countermeasures.
